Following the success of the video programme screened during the Parisian art fair Show Off, Les Filles du Calvaire Gallery presents for the second time the three video sessions.
Among the three programmes was presented the selection of the DVD TALENTS/LE CUBE special issue 2, curated by Carine Le Malet, Artistic Programmation Director of Le Cube, and edited by Joanna Chevalier, Talents DVD collection Editor in Chief.
The DVD "Architecture and Design" offers a choice of films that explore the relationship between sight and sound and raises questions of the very connection between man and his environment. The combination of digital techniques as mixed video/photo, animation 2D, 3D, etc. will emphasises the poetry of the topics whether dark or filled with hope.

EXHIBITION "STYLE EXPLOSION" TRADE FAIR PRET A PORTER PARIS

By the occasion of the trade fair PRET A PORTER PARIS - THE HEART OF FASHION, and included in the Fashion-Arts-Culture circuit, the exhibition "Style Explosion", directed by Alexandra Senes, will honour in september, "fashion, Art, Design and Cinema" as decrypting upcoming season trends.
Talents will exhibit pieces from Catherine Nyeki, Johnny Kelly, Andrew Jeffrey Wright and Sabine Massenet. These works were chosen according to the one connective thread that runs throughout the show - the use of color.

Catherine Nyeki - "H2-Zoo": H2-Zoo is a fluoridated cells universe, where Green blows our faces up and hearten us.

Johnny Kelly - "Procrastination": the frustration of an artist facing his fears when creating his art. His spirit takes over, as he hides his anguish by doing small useless tasks illustrated by color, compulsive phrases, never leaving behind his typically phlegmatic British humour.

Andrew Jeffrey Wright - "Manipulator": Black is the utter weapon that turns away, destroys and reforms the image.

Sabine Massenet - "Gravitations" : Gravitation is an installation of soap bubble, thousands of particle of colour draw up into an extremely sweet pastoral landscape.

SPORT IN ART

AN EXHIBITION ORGANIZED BY ADIDAS CHINA

For the Peking Olympics Games, Adidas China has put together an itinerant contemporary art exhibition, "Sport in Art".It will show the work of 71 international artists, travel through all China and will be hosted by the most important contemporary art museums.
For the occasion TALENTS has selected 8 visions, 8 artists, 8 universes.
The editor in chief, Joanna Chevalier, has chosen artists from various backgrounds: graphics designers, video artists, plastic designers that make installations, VJ's...
These different approaches offer to the public a very personnal, original and powerfull work on one universal topic: The Olympics Games.

To celebrate its fifth anniversary Le Cube, digital art center of Arc in the Seine, managed by the association Art3000 in Issy-les-Moulineaux, hosted an exhibition called "WHICH TALENTS" from September 23, 2006 to febuary 17, 2007 featuring works selected by Le Cube, from the 3 existing TALENTS'issues mentioned above.
