The setting here is a swinging body, nude. Liittle by little, different faces replace that of the person, fluctuating to the point of completely scrambling the image of a body. The artist is questioning the idea of our identity. Am I alone, am I even a man, or just a being that changes identity with each new circumstance and fleeting passion? Am I something other than the sum of personalities that others project on me?
Still Alives evokes the general conception of the transmission of life, of memory and death. By using a poetic esthetic, this film shows a blossoming universal vision of man.
The last journey dives into our memories, individual and collective.?Between past and present, life and death, endings and continuations, exist the immense blue.?
500 days, his most recent film, is a montage of 70 hours of clips cut to just 4 minutes, where, at a frenetic pace, we follow a young artist?s whims and peregrinations.
Here we present one of the rooms of a group show entitled "Silent Room". It is an X-ray of twenty rooms, twenty individuals,
twenty intimacies. This room corresponds to our inner selves. A broken interior where the senses have been tainted by care-fee and poetic exchanges. This poemfilm does not tell a story so much as it presents an ensemble of live scenes organized around one single idea, an impulse, the void, the quest for perfection. This is a work in contrasts, the cinema of a chamber, where that which is the most silent and least visible violently whispers its presence..
She won a prize for the best animation at the Festival Corto di Donne in Naples in 2008 with the movie, And life went on, presented here. Tehran, 1985. The war between Iran and Iraq. The sound of air raids and sirens. All of the neighbors run to
caves and shelters. You will be surprised that life continues, with gossip, jokes, dances, tea and coffee??.
Procastination is the work he presented for his diploma from the Royal College of Arts. This film deals with how we neurotically waste time and turn away from the essentials to deal with futile chores. Jonny speaks to us of small-mindedness with his typically phlegmatic British humor.
Ghost Towns is a vestige of a world which no longer exists, abandoned villages overtaken by Mother Nature, factories inhabited by weeds, and nary a living soul, just the presence of small cloud formations intimating the phantoms that refuse to leave.
It was nominated for the Qwartz video award 2006.
NB : The original version of the film, Ghost Town, has been destroyed due to an unexpected incident. Therefore, the archival version that we are presenting here is the only remaining format that the film exists in.
This video tells an odd and unusual story using the element of water as its main protagonist, creating the paradoxical concept of "liquid sculpture".The artist treats the themes of a universe in mutation, and modified perceptions, by showing different
forms of matter behaving in ways that completely distort the perceptions of the viewer. In this sequence of mysterious and abstract play, man and fish serve as sculptures, the last landmarks to behave according to the laws of nature as we know them..
