Discover the latest DVD from Le Cube/Talents, "Archi & Design", a selection of works based on themes of the city, city-planning, and design.Immerse yourself in these very personal artistic worlds with this purposefully eclectic selection. Sample these worlds, distorted according to the environment, temperament and past experience of each artist.
The choice of films was guided by curiosity, using a combination of digital techniques (mixed video/photo, animation 2D, 3D, etc.) to explore the relationship between sight and sound, as Cube so often does. In the end, the poetry of the moment, whether it be dark or filled with hope, raises questions on the very connection between man and his environment.
A selection by Carine Le Malet - Artistic programmation Director of Le Cube.
This DVD will be released to coincide with the "Cube Festival" which will take place in the city center of Issy-les-Moulineaux. New digital modes of expression will seamlessly inhabit the city, like an open air art museum placed around the theme of the future of the urban space, Expect to discover: interactive works, multimedia spectacles, live v/j/dj, films, programs for children, workshops, and seminars...

Both worlds of art and sport have in common 'performance' in common: to push the limits of endurance for athletes, the creative boundaries for artists. Both worlds touch on esthetics. TALENTS offers a pertinent look at sports through the eyes of a generation of creators. Eight cinematographers treat the subject - these artistic performances, bizarre and hypnotic, echo their athletic counterparts through metaphor and propaganda.
An eclectic walk from Brazil to California, and passing through Europe and Asia, crosses a whole world of emotions.
An Irish short film of love, an enticing little jewel from London, a Dutch narcissistic alien, an experimental and wildy sexy Brazilian babe, a baroque opera of South Africa, the hallucinogenic dance from Australia, a funny sketch from Taiwan, a shamanic folly from San Francisco, and a watery beat from Tokyo.
Selection by Charlotte Leouzon.
How to cut a live mouse in two. How to arm (or protect) Snow White. How to cut the throat of a rose.
A special edition of the bizarre, how nine artists chose to play with our most valued cultural icons. They raise questions about our greatest myths, touching common grounds such as nature, war and crime.
TALENTS#2 proposes a selection that uses humour, surprise, even madness and slapstick. A discourse emerges, accusatory, denunciatory, yet subtly and incredibly light.
We smile at "Flower Serial Killer" and "Carlitopolis", are seduced by "I Like to Think" and "Velvet Cell", yet remain perplexed by "From the Civil War" and "Snow White". We witness the dissolution of an ancient myth in "The Unicorn", feel powerless faced by the alienation of "Down-Slow" and insidiously threatened in "Empire".
Produced with Cube, the center for digital creation of Arc de Seine in Issy-les-Moulineaux.
The collection of art videos offered by TALENTS and Le Cube, the center for digital art at Arc de Seine in Issy-les-Moulineaux, join up to present a list of exceptional videos with the "Special Edition" DVD.
Le Cube chose to feature young unknowns in this collection. These videos reflect a far from exhaustive selection of contemporary visual creation. For this compilation, Cube chose films where image fuses with sound and music.
The first opus in the collection offers a voyage using the senses.
TALENTS has selected five of the top international cinematographers - from the different worlds of advertising, short film, and contemporary and graphic art. Metaphysics meets sensuality, moving and complex.
From these shorts, each visually intense, emerges a poetic spirit, one that cannot leave the spectator intact.
