Born in 1977 in Tehran, Maryam Mohajer received her first BA in painting at the University of Azad in Tehran. In 2000, she moved to England where she remains. In 2005, she earned her diploma in illustration and animation at the University of Kingston, joining the department of Animation at the Royal College of Arts in 2007.

She won a prize for the best animation at the Festival Corto di Donne in Naples in 2008 with the movie, And life went on, presented here. Tehran, 1985. The war between Iran and Iraq. The sound of air raids and sirens. All of the neighbors run to
