"Muscles" by Hans Gissinger
Hans Gissinger is a photographer obsessed by aesthetic perfection and exploration, fascinated by the grotesque and the genuine character of his figures and protagonists who often seem to come from the Comedia dell'arte. Violence and contempt are perfectly balanced, even as they idealize and ensure the highest possible visual qualities in all his works.
Hans Gissinger has had a certain number of solo exhibitions in museums and galleries in the United States and in France, particularly in the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature in Paris in 2000, in the Musée de la Citadelle in 2004, as well as numerous group shows in France and abroad.
His works are to be found in important private and public collections in Europe and in the USA.
Hans Gissinger lives and works in Miami, USA.
10 oversized photographs (1m98x1m32) , stick to one another. A choice: the black&white that gives a perspective and the sensation of cutting through the flesh. A powerful investigation on the human muscle that drives us through the world of effort.
