"Down-Slow" by Arik Levy - 1999 / 3'12''
Arik Levy (born in Tel Aviv) lives and works in Paris. He graduated from the Industrial and Design Department of Art Center Europe in Switzerland. He plays with innovative technologies in order to produce objects that give the appearance of simplicity so he returns the interpretation of his work to a collective imaginary.
He participates in a number of research projects and exhibitions most notably such as : the biennial "Video Zone" in 2001 ; the Museum Herzlyia in Israel ; the D-Day exhibition at the Georges Pompidou Center in 2005. Some of his works are included in the Georges Pompidou Center collections (Paris), the Victoria Albert Museum (London), the Israel Museum (Jerusalem) and the Museum of Modern art (New York).

A woman goes down a staircase her steps echoes the muffled sound of a submarine. She descends slowly, heavy, never-ending. That repetition traps us into an hypnotical circle.
